Project Showcase
Cherry Hills Residence –
Cherry Hills, Colorado BAM Consulting Engineers performed the structural design for this 17,000 SF residence. The wood-framed structure features a unique half-circle shape, large expansive rooms and 14 foot high basement walls. Requiring over 50 tons of steel, BAM also provided steel shop drawings which were created directly from the BIM model. The model was also used to create the structural documentation, coordinate with other project disciplines, and even used to electronically layout the construction site using a Total Station Layout.
Arrowhead Residences – Ft. Collins, Colorado
BAM Consulting Engineers did the foundation and structural design for a 3-story multi-family condo project in Fort Collins Colorado with a total floor area of approximately 26,000 SF. The superstructure consists of a 1-story elevated steel/concrete composite slab with 2-stories of conventional wood framing and metal plate connected wood roof trusses. Design includes structural considerations for gravity and lateral loading and effects of potential expansive soils, preparation of construction documents and calculation packages for the local building department.
Custom Residence – Denver, Colorado
BAM Consulting Engineers performed the foundation and structural design for this 10,000 SF two story residence with basement home. BAM was able to correctly assemble the model as the building would be built in the field and were able to utilize the model to detail the structure. The Revit Structure model was also used to create the construction documentation and to coordinate with the Architect’s plans. By creating a BIM model allows BAM to visually analyze the design to examine for cost savings, comfort and building safety.
Peak View Behavioral Health – Colorado Springs, Colorado
All the Cold Form Steel shop drawings were generated from a Revit Structure model. By having the project done within Revit Structure, the 3D model allowed for BAM to view any inconsistencies with the construction documents and the Revit Architecture model that were provided. An issue with the window assembly openings was mentioned to the contactor and was addressed within an RFI. The contactor stated the issue would have probably gone unnoticed until further along in the project.
Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church – Silverthorne, Colorado
BAM Consulting Engineers provided the steel shop drawings for this new 14,650 SQ.FT. single story church. This facility consisted of 28.5 tons of steel with complex roof slopes, custom steel connections, and a 50′ high steel tower. All shop drawings where generated using the Revit Structure model. Having created the model in Revit Structure allowed our team to work closely with the steel erector to help answer any questions or issues that were imposed.
St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church – Newark, Delaware
BAM Consulting Engineers provided the concrete tilt-up shop drawings for this new 8,188 SQ.FT. single story church. Each concrete panel showed the proper locations for the steel embedment, panel reinforcement and lifting anchors. All shop drawings where generated using the Revit Structure model. Modeling this facility allowed BAM to deliver the accuracy required to help eliminate some of the costly errors during construction.
Restaurant and Retail Center – Englewood, Colorado
Shop Drawings for the structural steel, steel deck, steel joists and joist girders were created from a single Revit Structure model. By utilizing one model to provide shop drawings for multiple products, BAM Consulting Engineers was able to shave weeks of the production schedule as well as recognize and solve design conflicts long before the delivery to the jobsite. The steel joists, joist girders and steel deck were ordered directly from schedules automatically produced from the model.
Cielo at Castle Pines –
Castle Rock, Colorado BAM Consulting Engineering provided structural steel shop drawings for this new events center located in Castle Pines. A structural model was created in Revit Structure and many errors and omissions in the structural plans were identified and solved prior to fabrication, saving the general contractor a significant amount of time and money.
